Growing volumes require modern grain handling
In just six months during 2023, one of western Sweden’s largest on-farm drying facilities was built, with nearly 10,000 cubic meters of storage capacity.
The project was characterized by close communication and collaboration between the customer, the dealer Tornum, and the supplier — ensuring a fast and efficient construction process.
The Challenge
Integration with an existing facility
When Magnus Karlsson at Håberg farm, located outside Grästorp in Sweden, wanted to future-proof the farm’s grain handling operations, the goal was to build a modern facility capable of handling larger volumes while simplifying daily grain management.
Within just six months in 2023, one of the largest grain drying facilities at farm level in Western Sweden was constructed, with close to 10,000 cubic metres of storage capacity. The project was carried out through close collaboration between the customer, the dealer Tornum and the supplier, enabling a fast and efficient construction process.
The new facility is also designed for future expansion and can function as emergency storage, making it a secure investment for both Håberg Farm and the continued development of modern agriculture.

Our solution
Integrated handling equipment and digital control
Through a long-term and close collaboration, the solution has been continuously adapted to Håbergs’ needs, serving as a clear example of the cooperative model applied by Skandia Elevator and its dealer. The new facility is also future-proofed with expansion potential and can serve as an emergency storage unit, making it a secure investment for Håberg Farm and the continued development of modern agriculture.
The digital system includes:
- Grain Control Flow: to simplifying daily silo planning including transport planning and grain storage management.
- Grain Watch: for temperature monitoring.
- Grain Balance: for weighing.
Together, these systems provide full control of grain flows via computer or mobile devices, making daily operations easier and more efficient.
